Hello! I’m so excited to start this 30 days challenge with you all! We are slowly approaching a new year and if you are feeling the same way I’m feeling—I would like to end this year out with a big BANG! Who’s with me? The challenge will began on November 17 and will end December 16, 2015. In my opinion, it’s best to participate with someone or as a group. The reason being, it’s always good to have someone other than yourself to encourage and support along the way. I decided to do the challenge with my sisters. Truth be told, I’m a bit of a procrastinator (it’s a working progress) and my sisters are a perfect fit for me because they give me that extra push. Plus, they don’t sugarcoat anything…they keep it real.
Here are the four things that we’re going to accomplish in our 30 Days Challenge:
1.) Drink ONLY water. This should be an everyday thing, right? Do you know how important and beneficial it is to drink water
daily? Drinking water can help you more ways than you can possibly imagine, from energizing your muscles to keeping your skin looking smooth. If you’re drinking 8 glasses of water a day, you’re on a good start. For me, I normally have a bottle of water in my car, workplace and in my purse. It’s easier for me to just buy a 2 cases of water—one to put in my back trunk of the car and the other case at home. Start buying gallons of water or cases of water and let’s get the drinking to a pure life!
2.) Eat proportional and before 8pm. Now let me clarify: You can’t eat anything you want! For this challenge, you have to think healthy and nutritiously. More vegetables and fruits, less (or none) sweets and fatty food. Anything greasy, high-calories, fried, and fattening—stay away from it! I did my research to find meal ideas and tips on a healthy meal plan for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh…I’m a snack person, so I gotta have something to snack on between the days—I can’t forget about snack time. I was lucky to find this amazing website: www.freshmarket.com, which contains EVERYTHING that you needed to know about what kind of food to eat, throughout the day! Take a few minutes to check it out!
3.) 15-30 minutes workout. If you’re a workout fanatic, by all means go ahead and extend it to an hour or two. I want to keep it sweet and simple for the beginners– this challenge is for EVERYBODY. No one is excluded from this challenge and this is definitely NOT a competition. Remember, slow progress is still progress. So with that being said, you can do any types of workout—whether you’re working out at the gym, with a personal trainer or at home, make it count for each day. Take 15-30 minutes out of your day to stretch, do some push-ups, squats, and sit-ups. The best way to workout is to walk it out or run—get your muscles pumping and your adrenaline flowing! However way you want to work out is perfect fine, just do it!
4.) Write down an inspirational quote for each day. I think #4 would be my favorite part of this challenge. Nothing motivates me more than kind words and meaningful sayings. Words are powerful and can mean a lot especially when you’re going through those bad times. Just a simple quote will brighten up my day. So to make this uplifting and empowered, I want you to write down an inspirational quote that inspires you (it can be more than one)—whether it’s from a song lyric or from a motivational speaker, as long as it’s meaningful to you.
Below, I’ve created a tracking sheet/spreadsheet below for the meal plan, inspirational quotes and workout. You can print it out or simply download the attachments on your computer and work on it from there. I’m looking forward to the outcome of this challenge, and hopefully you may take this as a beneficial strategy towards your daily lifestyle. At the end of the challenge, I will choose 3 volunteers to share their “A Better You 30 Days Challenge” report on the blog. Are you ready? Well, let the new journey to a better you began!
