“Me Before You”

15507958 (1)I’ve been contemplating on whether or not I should start a bookclub–but then I figured how much time that would take up, out of the time I don’t have. I’m a bookworm–I love reading books ever since I started elementary school. I spent most of my middle/high school days at home reading. Essentially, books have a special place in my heart and I wanted to come up with a project that will encourage everyone (especially the youth)–to pick up a book and read. In the world today, technology is literally taking over this generation. Young people are HOOKED on their phones and tablets–everything can be found with just one button or a click away. But we can’t forget that reading is power and knowledge is power! So with that being said, I decided to create a section talking about my point of view on a few books I’ve read and other related topics. Ok, so let’s get right into it!

The first book that I would like to share with you all is called, “Me before You” by Jojo Moyes. One of the best novels I’ve read for 2015. What I love most about the novel is the settings, which takes place in England. You can imagine how beautiful the scenery must be, the castles and the annex…very ancient and vintage. The story is well-written, filled with surprises and will keep you turning pages. Lou Clark and Will Traynor (the main characters) captured my heart, left me with unforgettable memories after the story ended. They are simply amazing–brought tears to my eyes because it touched me in ways I didn’t even expect and it was also an eye opener. The thing about it is that you have to be true to yourself. Seriously, do what makes YOU happy and don’t settle for less. Me Before You is the kind of book that will make you reflect in life and think are you really living your life to the fullest? I mean, it’s great that you’re in a relationship but are you truly in love with that person? Everybody needs a little cash flow to keep them going but is it really worth waking up every morning miserable to a job you hate? In general, this novel will leave you questioning and observing a whole new perspective point of view.

Me Before You is very unpredictable–I’m so used to reading a romantic story; concluding how it’s going to end and I’m always right, but not with this book. It’s definitely a love story–and a lesson learned as well. Ask me if it’s a sad or happy love story, I’ll let you be the judge. It will teach you the value of loving someone and appreciating them while they are still here on this earth. It will also teach you the principal of finding your purpose and following your dreams. I never really thought about how we’re so caught up to live our lives randomly,as if we have time on our side. We don’t. Time is precious and so are the people you love…cherish them dearly. I’m so glad I was able to achieve some of my goals on my To-Do-List, but after reading that book I realized that I have to step it up a notch. I need to jump out of my comfort zone and go after everything I ever wanted in life!

It’s been confirmed that there is a sequel to Me Before You, which is currently in stock now called “After You”. There’s no ifs, buts or maybe–I will be adding it to my bucket list of books to buy for 2016. Ladies and gentlemen, I highly recommend everyone to read the first sequel if you haven’t already! You will not regret it and FYI: A tissue box is required. I wished somebody would have told me to buy one before reading, but at least I’ll know next time for the next sequel. For those of you who have read the novel, tell me your review about it. Please comment below and share your thoughts on the novel. Also, if you have other books you would like to feature on the blog, share it as well! This section was created to connect, lets use our knowledge to educate each other. Until next time, have a great evening!
